The Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services Presents: The 2nd Annual Paramedic Memorial Bike Ride! 🚴‍♀️

Open to all Paramedics, Paramedic Staff, First Responders and their family & friends.

Join us for a day of fun, community spirit, and cycling — All in support of building and maintaining a memorial to remember and honour our fallen paramedic colleagues.

Riders from other paramedic services are welcome to dedicate their ride to their own fallen colleagues. Please email the name(s) of the paramedic(s) to include them in the ringing of the memorial bell.

ONE DAY - 2 DISTANCES

>Longer distance 110 kms -start in the morning. The route will loop from and to North HQ with a lunch stop at South HQ, where we will meet up with the 50km group.

>Shorter distance 50 kms -will start at lunchtime. The route will begin at South HQ where we will meet the longer distance riders for lunch, and finish at North HQ. A shuttle service will be available after the memorial ceremony.

>All riders will corral and ride in together to the finish at North HQ. An honour guard memorial ceremony will immediately follow the ride to pay tribute to our fallen colleagues.

FAQs:

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. Participants must be 16 years or older.

What kind of bike do I need?

A road bike or racing bike is ideal. A hybrid bike is the next best type. A mountain bike is not recommended.

What do I need to bring to the event?

-A bike, helmet & proper riding shoes are mandatory

-All other riding gear is optional i.e) sunglasses, gloves, etc.

-Lip balm, sunblock & change of clothes are good ideas!

What if I can't complete the distance or need a longer break along the route?

Zero stress! Our team will pick you and your bike up wherever you are and drive you to the next pit stop or to the finish. You showing up for this ride and having fun with your fellow riders, while supporting a worthy cause is the most important thing and something to be proud of! It's not just about the ride!

Not interested in riding but have FOMO? Volunteer, support and cheer on our riders and take part in an important cause to help build and maintain a memorial to honour our fallen paramedics.

We're currently seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with various aspects of this meaningful event. Lunch, snacks and all refreshments will be provided to all of our volunteers.

A portion of each registration fee will go toward the creation of a memorial space at ROWPS Headquarters.
